A friend from El Salvador was kind enough to provide me with seeds for this variety known as Chipilin. Native to Central America, the seeds are difficult to find unless you know someone directly. There is not much info and I'm curious if anyone here knows about or had the privilege of growing this one out. My friend who gave me the seeds said it maybe possible to see them mature if planted quickly. So as a test run I went ahead and planted the seeds in my garden hoping they will germinate soon. If you ever see green stuff mixed in with tamale maza it is most likely Chipilin. I believe we have similar plants here in North America that are in the same family but are toxic and considered invasive.
