Datil question

Finally getting some pods on Datil. Do the green ones have heat or just wait till they turn yellow??

mine turn orange when ripe.

They do have have heat when green. Green pickle well.

I use some green in making relish - and they are pretty hot green

Green are hot. I always leave all my peppers till fully ripe.
 
It will only be a couple of days trust me. I am harvesting tons daily.

My main buyer is concerned mainly with size not color but when i sell to individuals i only sell orange ripe datils1

I was wondering what yours are crossed with.

I think its a natural genetic variation. It's one out of about 4500 plants.
