Do Pepper Plants Break Easily

I've been growing peppers for a few years now and haven't had any issues.  This year however I grew two super hot plants (ghost and black hab).  The plants grew nicely until one day I was moving my hand through the ghost plant to see how it was coming along and I accidentally snapped the two main stems with very little force.  Then today I woke up to find an animal (probably my dog) had snapped the main stem of my black habanero plant.

I don't recall my plants breaking so easily in the past.  Are they typically so delicate, are the hotter plants more fragile, did a dry spell this summer just make them brittle, or did I just have some bad luck.

I have never had that happen. Thing to try next grow have a small fan osolate on them 24/7 when they are young seedlings. The light wind will make them grow massive mains. Least that is what I do on mine.
