dreamofdarkcat's 2011 grow log

Here we go again! Unless the cats destroy it again, I think I will have a decent garden this year. Late start, as I am still waiting on seeds from kaiser. But I did find some from last year..so currently this is what I started today, using the jiffy pellets. Would have liked to try a new method but on A low budget..
So, planted-
Tepin
White habenero
Chocolate habenero
Oranges scotch bonnet
Red scotch bonnet
Mayan love
Indian jawala

Peppers I'm hoping to still get-

Bhut jolokia
Chocolate bhut jolokia
Bih jolokia
Naga morich
Naga jolokia
Trinadad 7pot
Dorset Naga
Red fatali
Red datil
Carribean red habenero
Thai bird
Pequin
Aji rojo

Planning on planting 10 of each. Still have room for more if anyone has something interesting :)

dodcat, I understand all about the cat destruction and being on a budget. A good many people use the pellets with good results. I have several of the varieties on your waiting on list that you can have free if you don't get them soon I would send you some. PM me if interested.

Good luck with your season

Mike

you ordered from kaiser? I thought he was ripping people off... or that's what most people have been saying here, well, let us know If you do get seeds from him

Alaskan- yeah, ordered seers from him first week of December and started emailing. Custumer service about 2 weeks later. Finally got a reply a week ago...but I'm not holding my breath on this one...ay this point it'll be summer by the time I get them. Mike is helping me out on some varieties (awesome) so I'll be able to have a decent start.

Mark, Seeds went in the mail today. Also added Bailey Pequin that was isolated. They dont usually produce well their first year. Much better as an overwintered plant. Also you could have bird problems as they like the little red pods. I have had bird issues with this plant before but not a bit of trouble last year.

Good Luck
Mike

Mark, The year I had the most trouble with I had the plant wrapped with screen mesh and the sparrows were worming their way in and getting trapped in there and wreaking havoc at that point. I did not protect the 2nd year plant at all last year and had no problems? Maybe the taste changed.

Glad to help Mark, Hope you season goes well. Let me know how your extract brew works out. I would typically shy away from it but I enjoyed Cappy's (PepperRidgeFarm) first run of his "Brain Strain" sauce which had his own extract in it.

Cheers Mike

This will be my 3rd batch of bhut jolokia extract..I call it rocket fuel! Will be evapping on Saturday. Should be able to send you a sample on Tuesday
