Drying problem?

I have three different types of Hot peppers I'm growing, and for the most part they're fine....

There was a frost before I brought in the last batch of peppers, but I decided to try drying them anyways. We have a wood stove in our basement and a fan to move the air, so they dried quickly.. So they're dried, but they all look as though they have sun scald - which they didn't have when I brought them in. What could this be? is it safe to use them?

Could you post a picture of the pods?
Did you dry them on top of the wood stove? Pods turning brown normally means they got too hot in the drying proces.
How quick did they dry? 1 or 2 days?
