seeds DWC Growth from Seedling

So this is my first year growing in a DWC system.  I am only trying with one plant this year.  The rest of my stuff is in soil.  For those of you that have done DWC growing before, my question relates to growth rate.  What to expect compared to soil, does it plateau at time like soil does.  The reason I ask is this plant is growing faster than soil plants.  Here is an example.....this photo was from the day I added the seedling to the DWC.

The 2nd photo is exactly 1 week later.  Is this a normal growth rate for DWC?  Should I expect a plateau at some point.  Thank you in advance for the comments.

I will probably grow a plant in dwc next yr. for the first time. I also want to try cloning!
I did an experiment this yr. I cut a seedling in half at the stem, it only had true leaves and was an extra seedling. After cutting the seedling in half at the stem I quickly put it into some fresh soil and watered it with a touch of no transplant shock root booster. The seedling survived and has grown since then, but it of course got set back.

In general, it has been my experience that they grow about twice as fast hydroponically vs. soil.

Not always. Guru's 2012 BS is the fastest growing plant I have seen thus far. And also one of the biggest.

P.S.
I honestly think it has to do with PH, whitch is easyer to control in hydro.

I appreciate all of the responses.  I am just trying to get a better idea of what to expect.  It is growing faster than some of my soil plants.  I am looking forward to the growth comparisons as the season continues.  So far I have really liked this DWC setup and LOVE the idea of growing indoors over the long and frigid Minnesota winters.
