Naturally, the mass market brands are going to dominate a chart based on total sales. That said, I’m surprised to see Huy Fong’s sriracha didn’t top at least one state. It’s absolutely massive in terms of mindshare…

I’m going to guess that maybe it’s disproportionately popular amongst younger folks, while older consumers quietly continue buying the older brands they grew up with.

I probably saw more Crystal hot sauce bottles around than Tabasco back home in Lousyana.

Another interesting thing is that the Eastern side of the country likes fermented sauces (Tabasaco, Louisiana, Frank's, Texas Pete's) and the West prefer unfermented (Cholula, Tapatio).

Texas Pete's parent company Garner Foods is based out of Winston Salem, NC. It's obviously not a "hot" sauce but we do sure love our vinegar 'round here.

Its a bit hard to determine this as a lot of places doesnt sell anything but the big brands. Is interesting to look at though. A poll in pepper fourms and groups would also be hard as there are too many too choose from.
