eggshells powder

For a split second there, I read "eggshell" as Egg Shen, the character from the movie "Big Trouble In Little China". My first thought was that, whatever this new stuff was, it was definitely going to be Big Trouble In Small Intestine with the resulting peppers... lol... Sorry, I just couldn't resist... Slow day :)

All kidding aside... I would guess if you got the particle size sufficiently fine, then all you would need to do was apply directly to the soil, water as normal, and see what happens...

It is a calcium source, that also has very modest amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, all of it very slow release.
The idea with adding it to compost is that it gets incorporated into the soil when the compost is used.

Either mix with the soil or dissolve in vinegar then dry off vinegar in oven or sunlight, mix resulting calcium acetate with water and water plants. Not a strong calcium source but natural and not wasting resources
