EnChroma Glasses, "color for the colorblind"

Took their test.  Here's what they told me:

Extreme deutans (“doo-tans”) have a severe or complete red-green color blindness.
Extreme deutans generally do not get the “wow-effect” from the EnChroma lens. Color vision may be improved, but the effect is subtle and takes a significant amount of time to adapt to (anywhere from days to weeks). In some cases, there may be no noticeable effect at all–these types are calleddichromats, where the individual effectively has no M-cone photopigments).
Based on feedback from people with similar results, we believe there is about a 50% chance that EnChroma glasses will help your color vision.

I saw a thing on TV about them, and it fell right in line with what Smoke said. They took a bunch of people from ages 18-70 and it was about 3-5 that it worked for. They ones that it did work for tho, was incredible to watch them when they put the glasses on, it was like they could see for the first time. Others were checked on in a couple weeks and they noticed improved vision as well.

Not much help but I just thought I'd share. I thought it was pretty cool for those folks. I hope you get some and they work for you, but it might be worth looking into what SnF said.

Strong deutans for me. 75% chance they will help, according to the site.

I'm mostly curious if they would help me track blood when hunting. I'm lost without a friend to help me.

It would probably be easier just to stick a UV bulb in a flashlight and use that if you're hunting.

Cone monochromacy
I would not be helped by them at all :(

I almost got excited. I have mostly adjusted to not seeing blue/green as anything but grey, but it would be nice to actually see the lovely Green emeralds we are getting in the shop for May birthstones :(

Edited to show the actual name for my type of color blindness. I see blue and green as grey. I can however see yellow but I an guessing it is not as vibrant as it would be with normal vision.

Doesn't work without Luminol, and at about $6 per ounce, that could get expensive spraying it all over the woods.

Also, tracking blood isn't the only reason I'm interested in the glasses. I'm curious as hell to see how the world looks to non-colorblind folks.

Luminol glows by itself with blood, doesn't it? Blood glows under UV by itself, but you'd still need a good eye to see it.

The world looks kinda interesting. Not that much except for this webpage though.
