Ever discover your friend was a chilihead?

While working in Kansas City, I met up with an old friend from the military. I knew we both enjoyed curry from a certain restaurant in Japan. I had sent him some habanero powder last year to spice up the curry. I brought a pack of CoCo's curry, and a fresh Bhut from the garden. The look on his face was priceless. I knew he liked the spice, but I was surprised when he told me he was growing hot peppers as well. He had never thought of looking online for a group of people that enjoyed the burn. After I told him of the knowledge and the generosity of the members here, I imagine he will become a member soon. After months of odd looks and people questioning my hobby, I am starting to think there are more chiliheads out there that we know. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Or am I the only one?

I have turned a few friends into chili heads lol, and had a few neighbors and repair men stop to marvel at my peppered patch, guess they are rare around here.

Im doing a refi.3.25%, nuff said. The appraisor comes by last week and as he's looking thru the house I have to take him into the pepper room,I say hold your nose this might knock you out! He loved it! and said he grows red savina and chocolate habs! So then we walk out to the garden and he is amazed! I gave him a few ripe supers and a couple kinds of my sauce to take home! There are alot of chiliheads out there, and the sad part is most have to settle with store bought stuff.

i also have a few close friends that share my love for everything hot

the answer is yes you are not alone, i love it and cant imagine ever giving it up

there's an old saying "

set your self on fire and the whole world will come and watch you burn

it has to do with passion and desire

I do get that "odd look" too!

funny, when claiming a seed parcel at the PO last week, the custom officer told me that there is a person who recently claimed a parcel with some peppers seeds included. I wonder if I know that person within our district. hmmm...

I have succeeded in getting some of the people I know to try the spicy way of life by introducing them to some of my mild and medium hot sauces. Next step is to turn them into chiliheads. :hell:
