Floppy Top Thais

I am growing some type of Thai pepper. I got the peppers from a local Asian market and they were just labeled Thai hot, about 2-3in long and a little thicker than a pencil. I saved some seeds from the ripe pods and dried them then planted about a little over a month ago. The little guys are now about 6-8 inches tall. The problem is every single one of them has a very floppy top. The top of each plant just flips and flops in the breeze and when it rains the tops just tip over like the stems aren't strong enough. The base of the stem is just fine though it is just the last inch or so. Is this common or is it a problem?

I find the Thai types to be a bit spindly until they really get going. Bamboo bbq skewers work good for small plants. Use 2 or 3 per plant to keep them up. You don't even need to tie them if you place them well.
