If I receive fresh seeds as in mushy peppers from ie trini, can they be germinated or do they need to dry first?

The fresher, the better...I threw some congo trinidad seeds in soil, one day removed from the pepper and they sprouted in one week..

I had the same issue and posted about it recently too. I did an experiment drying some and planting some fresh... they all sprouted in about the same time after planting. Only bother with drying if you need to store them, but if you're growing them now, just follow AJ's advice.
