Fruit Set??

I am a brand new gardener, learning lots from reading, but soon the real thing begins. I will soon be planting my seeds here in Zone 5 awaiting transplant around end of May.

I have done some reading insofar as spraying my pepper plants with an epsom salt solution at transplant, again at blossoming and lastly at "fruit set".

Dumb question #1, what is "fruit set"?
#2, is this spraying tip good advice?

Thanks all............

Fruit set is when the flowers pollinate and pods start to grow in their place, you will know when this happens as the flower drops off. If the fruit "sets" the stem will hold onto the plant in question, if not it will drop off.

No doubt there are advantages spraying with epsom salt solution but you can do it more often than what you mentioned. Makes the plant nice and green through providing it with magnesium.

Happy growing!
