Hi all. This looks like a great place to be to learn more about growing peppers. I am an absolute newbie at growing peppers but (as in most things I do) I have launched into it full blast. I have bought seedlings of various types (serrano, cayenne, inferno). I have recently started a Bhut Jolokia from seed which is now starting to show buds. I also now have some seeds that are just sprouting which are Moruga Scorpion, Trinidad Scorpion, Scotch Bonnet, Yellow 7 pot/pod, Red Habanero, Choc Habanero, Choc Scorpion, Scorpion Butch T. I think that's about it. I have bought compact fluoro globes and Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium lights all so I can try starting these peppers indoors before slowly taking them outdoors. Look forward to learning lots and sharing my experiences also.

Seriously though, autumn/winter here in Brissy is awesome for starting chillies. The winter sun is not too hot, and the temps outside during the day are not too cold. As soon as my seeds pop, it's straight out there in full sun, then at night it's under the light for that extra boost. Beats the crap outta having to harden off! You also get the benefit of giving your babies nice, fresh air and the natural elements like wind will toughen 'em up and eliminate the need of having to use a fan to simulate the same.
