water Ghetto DIY sub irrigation planter

Hi ,
I have been looking at raised beds and sub irrigation planters for a while , but did not want to spend to much on it.
My biggest problem is intense midsummer heat , and although I have more than enough planting space , I need to plant in the shade.
So the wife's greenpeppers are the first to try out the new planter.

I used;
- old horse water trough
- old swimming pool cleaner pipe

Drilled a few holes in the pipe and placed it in the though .
Drilled a whole in the through/planter for the drainage pipe.

Old swimming pool pipe with holes in placed in the bottom with the start of the pipe pointing up, this is were the water and nutes will go in.

I hope they and and my wife, enjoy this new place in the shade.
