Some of the hottest peppers I have ever grown, perfectly ripe Bhuts picked and washed 90 minutes prior to shipping at 4:45 pm (I knock the field heat out of them in a 45-degree environment before shipping).
These are the result of an outdoor hydroponic system which allows me to precisely control field moisture capacity of the root zone, giving more evenly ripened and higher levels of capsaicin since I keep the root zone no higher than 40% moisture during ripening. This year, the Bhuts are making my Red Savinas taste relatively mild in heat without sacrificing flavor.
No pesticides have ever been used other than neem oil three weeks ago. Nutrients are hand made in house and contain a lot of natural 'boosters' such as kelp extracts. Al
