Good News n Bad News

Good News - I am back.  A while ago, I promised Hot Pepper I would not post while in the hospital cause I get all goofy while on morphine or other strong opiates.  So been away. Good thing too cause this time the morphine was a flowing.

Bad News - I might be screwed.  I got kicked out of a nursing home.  Didn't know that was a thing.  So I dont have the antibiotics, wound vacuum, or pain medicine.  What did I do to get kicked out?  Well, they have a rule against smoking on their property so I wheeled to sidewalk and smoked a cigarette.  Turns out there is a rule against leaving the building without a family member.  Woops...
 
Wife is screaming at me, kids are screaming at me, everyone is screaming at me.  But think on what I said.  It is not a prison.  How can they say you can not leave if you are not a prisoner.
 
I bet they have had patients walk off & there family go nuts suing them etc .
That said this is extreme & shouldn't they have explained all the rules to you & your family plus leave a paper with the rules in case you forget.

Naw they are really done with me.  They were really angry.  It wasnt the smoking, it was wanting to not be a prisoner or treated like an invalid.  They want people who stay in their bed until it is tie for bingo.  I hate bingo.  Seriously, talked to lots of the patients there.  Their souls are gone.  No flicker in their eyes.  It is horrible.

Seeing GP on Monday.  Just ranting because of how they treat people like invalids.  Probably would not be as put off by a rule that said you could not go outside.  But you can not go outside without adult supervisions?  Excuse me?
 
Vape- problem solved.  No smoke, so no leaving building.  You can lie in bed all day long and even go to bingo and vape!

ps- I'm not a vaper, never a smoker.  I do have an employee who was a smoker and now vapes.  I think he is inhaling more nicotine than with cigs as he puffpuffpuffs all the time, but at least he's not sneaking off for smoke breaks or leaving butts on the job site.
 
Only time I ever got kinda pissed at him was when I returned from a vacation and he had used my tool pouch.  I reached in for some connectors and pulled out cig butts.  I took off my belt, dumped it on the floor, said a few strong words....
 
 
Salsalady, it wasnt wanting to smoke so much as being told I my not leave the building without a relative.  Essentially, they were saying I can not go out to play unless I am watched by a responsible adult. That and anytime I did anything they did not like, they called my wife and reported to her as if she was my mother and I were ten. 
 
Best example: Was up all night due to constant screaming down the halls.  Something called sunsetting makes dementia patients particularly loud.  Next morning, they brought me breakfast.  I looked at it and went back to sleep because it had meat on it.  So they wake me up to ask why I didnt eat it.  Cause I dont eat meat.  So they pick the bacon off my plate and insist I eat it.  I ask them, if someone served you a shit pizza and then removed the shit, would you eat it?  They called my wife to report my refusal to eat breakfast and use of inappropriate speech.  Then there was the phone call because I did the unthinkable, I left my room on my own.  That call was at like 11 PM.
 
It was all so very unreal.

So here is what confuses me now.  If they have an elderly patient with no place to go, one who gets cantankerous like I was, do they just sort of drop them off on the sidewalk?  What about someone who lives alone?   I have a huge completely open wound down my right foot from where they cut out the bone.  If not for my wife and kids, I would be completely screwed.  So what would a person without a wife and kids do?  Heck, how would a person get home?
