Grand Marnier Drinkers?

Hey, guys just wanted to mention a shot I invented (I think). Normally you would drink Grand Marnier in a snifter after dinner in place of a dessert. Here in SC a couple bartenders on Hilton Head Island back in the 80's decided it was a good idea to do shots of this stuff. Before becoming a bartender I honestly thought this was repulsive. However, After many bar shifts being force-fed "the nectar of the gods" I have grown to like it.. ALOT...

If any of you have ever visited Denny's at 3am on a drunken college bender, you've probably had the pleasure of experiencing the "Moons over my Hammy" breakfast special. In a word, Amazing. So, a couple years ago I threw a little twist on the standard shot of "Grandma". Take a half of a pint of Blue Moon (Or any comparable orange-ish wheat beer) and drop a shot of Grandma in to it and CHUG CHUG CHUG. What you get is a delicious concoction I like to call "Moons over my Granny". I know it sounds intense (it is) but its actually very good. It tastes like orange candy... Which makes it pretty dangerous! I would reccomend this to anyone who likes to get his or her night out started with a BANG.. Be carful though, they creep up quick! Hope someone gets a chance to give this whirl, you won't be sorry! Enjoy!

Greetings PB
That sounds like a winner.
I love granny about any way it can be done...so I think when I transplant my last plant, I'll celebrate with a "Moons over my Granny".
16 plants down....40-ish to go....so it might be sometime this weekend at the earliest.
Thanks...
CM

Being an avid gran marnier drinking, with 150 and 250 as a weekly drink for me, and being a bartender as well, it upsets me that you would disrespect gran marnier in such a matter as to turn it into a drop shot for kicks, especially in such a disgusting beer.

Monsta - It's actually really good man, I think You'll enjoy it!

Wheebz - To each his own. Don't knock it till you try it. Also, Ive never heard of the "250". Maybe you could shed some light on it since you seem to be a connoisseur and all. Especially since the only ones listed on the Lapostolle Website are: Cordon Rouge "red ribbon", Cordon Jaune "yellow Ribbon", Cuvée du Centenaire commonly known as "100 year" to commemorate the 100th anniversary, and Cuvée Speciale Cent Cinquantenaire "150 Year" (150th Anniv). They have one more called Cuvée Louis-Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle Which is an extremely rare special edition produced in very limited quantity.

P.s. Take it easy old boy, Life is too short.

I love grand marnier! Cadillac Margaritas are awesome. Half them time I don't even poor in the granny and just take the shot on it's own at some point. That moons over my granny sounds awesome. Not a huge fan of the corriander in blue moon so I'll have to try it with something else. I miss Grant's Orange hef....

Love Gran Marnier. Like Drambuie even more. Introduced shots of Drambuie to my local boozer some years ago, got 'em all playing Butt Darts, drinking shots of "buie" and acting like real stupid twits. Reminded me of being back home in the UK
