Grass Hoppers....

Are grasshoppers dangerous to pepper plants? Do they really eat everything in their path? We've never had them here in the 20 years I've lived in Oakland, but they somehow found a secret tunnel from the California central valley to my house! I've caught 2 in the past 2 weeks. My Bearded Dragon loves them!! I just hope they don't love my crop!

Pretty sure they'll eat your pepper plants.

I wouldn't feed them to your lizard either, never know what kind of pesticide or herbicide they've come in contact with outside.

Living in Oakland actually doesn't worry me about pesticide use. Even though it's one of the murder capitals of the nation it's also one of the most green and organic cities in the nation. There's no farm lands or crops. It's a bunch of old hippies trying to hold on to their green earthly causes where we live. There's even a honey called Hood Honey "Oaktown Neighborhood Honey" that's made from bees from Oakland! Good Stuff.....

DONT FEED IT TO YOUR LIZARD I HEARD PEPPER LEAVES ARE POISONOUS TO BEARDIES. i read that you shouldn't feed them hornworms from your garden either for the same reason

He's doing just fine.

Good to hear.

Here in Nebraska we avoid feeding outside bugs like the plague. My neighborhood is green too, but that's because of the pesticides/herbicides my neighbors use on their grass.
