Green peppers

I just ate a green hab, because it didn't look like it was gonna get big enough to cook with..

Wasn't as hot as munching a red, BUT what interests me is, am I the only person who salivates far more with greens?

Is there a scientific explanation?
It's not the first time I noticed this.
 
humm.. i'm not sure about that but i had a 1/2 case of habs that didnt turn in time so I sampled a few to see if they had any heat or flavor.. surprisingly the heat was there but lacked the fruity flavor that I like in habs.. For me they became powder..
