Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been growing peppers from seed for about 10 years now. I usually grow things around a medium heat level, though I enjoy mild and sweet peppers, too.They're mostly used for poppers, grilling, hot sauce, and some powder. I do most of my growing in containers because my climate is very wet, especially in the spring, and the plants are much happier without wet feet. Besides, I can overwinter them in containers. I usually overwinter 3-4 plants per year in a sunny, floor-length window. They go dormant, then start leafing out again in the spring. I've had more luck doing this with cayenne or hot peppers than sweets. The yield the second year is usually doubled.
 
I've grown mostly Annums:
 
Black Hungarian
Anaheim
Santa Fe Grande
Jalapeno
Goat's Horn
Aurora
Maule's Red Hot
Hinkelhatz
 
 
and Tequila Sunrise, Paprika, Pimiento, Jimmy Nardello, Banana, Sweet Pickle and Corbaci, for sweets.

I thought I'd share a picture of my Anaheim plant to practice attaching images. The plant was started from seed on February 10, and is planted with 4 other peppers in an old sandbox.

I thought Tequila Sunrise was a hot pepper?! Mine don't look anything like the package.. Growing like, and more the size of, a Poblano instead. Got any pictures of yours?
Have you tried Tangerine Dream yet? They really are dreamy, and grow well in containers! I've got a couple in 1 gallon fabric pots and they put on a lot of pods. Someday, when the slugs tire of eating holes in them, I hope to make poppers with them!

Tangerine Dream just got put on my short list. I have too many planned for next year but I'm definitely keeping it in mind for the future. I really enjoy non-bell sweet peppers.

My Tequila Sunrise looked a lot like Tangerine Dream, maybe with slightly smaller pods. I also read that they can have some heat to them but mine were very sweet. My seeds were from Tradewinds Fruit. Some of them grew upright and then fell down as they got bigger. They look nothing like Poblanos. They were only about 2-3 inches long. I haven't grown them for a few years but I've been thinking about starting some for next summer. I ate them raw last time but I keep thinking how awesome they'd taste pickled. Here's an old picture from the last time I grew them:

Yeah, mine were maybe a quarter of the size of those--like a small jalapeno. Those look almost like banana peppers--how weird! I bet they're tasty regardless, but it's so frustrating when you end up growing something different than you expected.
