Greetings From VA Beach

Hello all,

New to hot sauce making… I tried my first batch today and clearly need to browse the forums bc it didn't turn out the way I wanted :D

Little background about me:
Love everything homemade. I make my own cheese, Beer, Now hot sauce, and plan to add cider and wine to the list. I just think its pretty cool to make your own recipe and have it taste better than any store bought stuff you can find.

I also like hunting, fishing, and airsoft.

Where are some good stores to find quality peppers? The local market only had dried chili peppers and their produce isn't all the greatest.

Thanks in advance and look forward to being a part of the forums!

welcome .. i used to live over in richmond and had a really  cheap place to get peppers.. now that im in phoenix i can get common peppers year around but the price is a bit higher.. pm me if your ever in the richmond area i can give you an address.. i got red /yellow habs by the case for 4.00-10.00  I maxed myself out before i moved and made 7 gallons of hab sauce...:)

There were waves today!

:welcome: from jersey. I love your beaches. Wine is easier to make then beer. I never made cheese yet but it's on my to learn list.

Thanks for the welcomes.

My buddy showed me as picture of the waves. Was pretty jealous since I had to with today.

And cheese was actually pretty easy. I made mozzarella and it turned out fantastic. Probably the best I've ever eaten and it was my first attempt.

I was told you need 2 6.5 gallon carboys for wine and I only have 1 atm with a 5 gallon so not able to make wine yet.

Back on topic does anyone have a simple recipe to start with for hot sauce? Preferably without fruit.

Thanks in advance
