Hi! I think you might find some of our "How to Grow" pages useful for the Chocolate Cherry tomato. It's an indeterminate, which means it will grow tall & viney, so you'll need a little room for it in a sunny spot. Check out this page http://bonnieplants....owing-tomatoes/

As for the lettuce, I've grown in water as you mention, but used wide mouthed Atlas jars or Mason jars. the top of a 2 liter might not be stable enough for your (hopefully) big head o' lettuce! Actually, I plan to grow lettuce in 7l bottle and I will choose some loose leaf variety (still dunno which, though) one so there will be no big heads. I think it could grow on top and on the sides of that bottle, like some guys grow strawberries...

Tomatoes?
I think they will go to upside down pots.
