Growing Butch T

Hey everyone. I'm in the process of growing Butch T Scorpion Peppers for the first time. One plant is around 5 months and maybe three feet tall, the other is around 3 months and around 1.5ft. My question is when can I expect peppers and is any pruning of these plants required? The small plant as acutally sprouted a flower where two of the stems meet. I do not see any signs like that on the larger plant. Any insight would be helpful, thanks.

mine is smaller that that with 12 pods already

Big Pot, Plenty of sun, good soil and sometime good fertiliser with a higher 3rd number should bring flower pretty qwuickly and followed by pods

It is getting adequate light. I live in Puerto Rico so sunshine is no problem

I also have very dark ants on the underside of the leaves which they seem to be laying eggs. I really hope this is not bad for the plant.

Are you sure they are not "farming" Aphids ? That could be very bad for your plants.

Your "ants" on the underside of the leaves laying eggs are more than likely aphids which is bad. Or they could be ladybug larvae which is good. You need to ID them or post pics here and we can help. Once you know what they are then you will know how to deal with them.

What are you fertilizing them with if anything? If you're using something with a high first number, which is nitrogen, you will get fantastic plant growth but very little flowering.

Good luck.

I follow the ants to the aphids, then hit em with neem oil mix, if the Lady bug nymphs are present I sit back and cheer!

Black eggs usually equals aphids . Blast there asses with some srong stough. They will laugh at neem oil!
