growing in compost

Is it feasible to grow peppers in straight compost? I read that it is, but it doesn't sound right?

It depends upon the nutes that are in the compost. All compost are not the same.

I grow in straight leaf compost. My GLOG pics show the ones in 5 gallon buckets I fill each year with leaf compost and my gardens I built with leaf compost and add more each year if needed to bring levels up.

That just proves my statement wrong. I was thinking that leaf compost would be lower in nutes. Next year I'll be using leaf compost and worm castings to fill my raised beds. Maybe I'll do one with just leaf compost.

You can but it has to be fully aged so it has broken down enough.

There are not really that many nutrients in compost compared to fertilizers but it is all about the soil food web. If the web is healthy the plant will receive all the nutrition it needs.
Do you think anyone gives extra nutrients to flowers in the wild or plants in the forest?
