Having issues with asiatic garden beetles (maladera castanea)

Like the title says I am having issues with these little S**ts on some of my pepper and egg plants and wondered if any knew of any recommendations? I got diatomaceous earth the other day (yes its food grade and safe for the garden) and will be applying tonight due to it raining here for the last few days. Does anyone else know of any other ways to get rid of these little a** h**es of is the diatomaceous earth my best bet.

After 1 week of sprinkling  D. Earth around my grow area,along with picking them off in the dark with the aide of a flashlight,I believe they are gone.
Thank goodness there is acreage separating the properties as people would  sure wonder what the heck is going on LOL  Hopefully yours have vanished  too.
They did  damage to some of my pepper plants,that are now showing signs of correction.They were AWFUL!!
