I can only control what information I generate. Currently I'm just logging the variety, where I got it from, a personal invoice ID (linked to the actual invoice if I purchased the seed), the date it was purchased, and any other info I can get from the supplier. From there, seeds get pulled from individual seed lots, with each germinating plant becoming a unique entity. Crosses, and isolations are recorded using their parent's information and my lineages start from there. I'm also logging seed lot phenotype descriptions post germination, germination times, plant substrates, etc.
After this season I should be able to provide whatever information I have available along with my seeds. You'll know how many generations it was removed from the original source material and everything I know about the seed from the source. Most people likely won't care but the data can't hurt. If nothing else I'll know my set up a little better in the end.
