HeatMiser's 2022 Glog

Happy New Year!

I've been debating whether I should start a Glog this year or not given that I most likely won't have time to update it as frequently as previous years. I decided to still go for it in case somebody wants to know how a particular variety is doing, and also to document my progress.

We moved to a bigger place last year, and now that we actually have a decent sized yard, my outdoor grow will be expanded accordingly and my indoor grow might not happen at all. This year I'll be focusing on a couple of things:

1) Refreshing seeds I've bought over the years. Some of these are 10 years old
2) Experiment with two big (50 Gal) Kratky Setup. I'll be growing Zapotec Jalapenos and Lemon Drops since these are family favorites.

Here are the varieties I'll be playing with this year:

I think that's it for today. I'll be working on soaking up the seeds and putting them in rockwool cubes later today or early tomorrow. Pics will follow as well.

:woohoo:Glad to see you getting
underway, @HeatMiser.

I hope that those c. pubescens do well for you
this season. That’s a very well-rounded list you
have there.

Glad to see you getting after it HM. Refreshing seed is always a good idea - one I need to remember as well. 50 gal Kratky sounds interesting. Definitely gonna be watchin. Best of luck this season!

Thanks Paul! And thanks again for the seeds - I'm really excited to be growing rocotos for the first time - hopefully we'll get a new family favorite!

OK,

Chinenses are now soaking in a 0.15% H2O2 solution for 24 hours. Hoping for good germination rates after this.

I'll take care of the other varieties around Jan 15th.

4 more varieties popped up today:

White Habanero (can't really see due to the angle of the pic. Second cube on the top row)
Chocolate Reaper (First cube second row)
Death Spiral (Second cube second row)
Carolina Reaper (Third cube second row)

Also, the rest of the grow is currently soaking in 0.15% H2O2:

Things will get out of control in a couple of months :fireball:

Thanks @PaulG... I think there must be some luck involved as well. Anyway, I really believe storing the seeds in the fridge helps keep them viable.
Good point. I also like keeping the wild seeds in
the dried berries rather than separating them.

Unbelievable actually that seeds are able to come alive after such a long time!
