Hello from Central NY

Hi, My name is Dan, I stumbled upon this site yesterday and read a few of the threads and liked what I saw so here I am. I eat alot of spicy foods and grow my own hot peppers. I just read the cast iron thread and that really caught my eye because I collect and restore cast iron cookware. I own approximately 200 pieces and cook pretty much everything in cast iron. I work highway construction in the summer and am laid off in the winter. My wife and I plant a pretty big garden and can and freeze many veggies and fruits. We also can venison and make sausauge. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning from you. Dan

Hi Dan! Welcome home as they say. It's funny that a lot of folks here have more in common than heat. I cook in cast iron a lot as well. Nowhere near 200 pieces though. More like 12-15. Close to 25 nice copper pieces though. One from the early 1700's I picked up last year at a yard sale for $18! Score! I also eat as much "game" as possible. Have you seen Hank Shaw's site; Hunter, Angler, Gardner, Cook ? Great site. He just posted a recipie for Black Bear Osso Bucco. Wow! Anyway, Welcome and good luck!
