Hello from Charleston!

Hey everyone.
Been lurking for a while now, finally decided it was time to introduce myself.
I'm a Kansas City native that is currently stationed in South Carolina with the Navy. Been in for about 8 years, and I'm a submariner on shore duty. Originally got interested in growing peppers for the stereotypical reason of... BBQ! Surprise!
I grew up gardening with my father (an agronomist by trade), and now that I'm in a favorable climate, decided it was time to grow some stuff.
I got my first pepper last year when someone left it behind at my office when they went back to sea, and it has given me a couple dozen habanero level hot peppers that I made into some powder for some truly tasty bbq sauce.
Now I'm looking to branch out and grow a few more for some hot sauces and to give away. I really do enjoy the grow more than the actual pepper eating!
I hate asking questions that have already been asked, but I'm sure it'll happen if I can't find it by searching. Thanks for all the knowledge so far, y'all, and looking forward to some big harvests!

Welcome to the Forum! Thank you for your service! Go Navy! Cheers!

Welcome aboard! This is indeed the right place for "everything" pepper. I'm a North Charleston chap and and a Navy veteran to boot (Airdale.) It would be my honor to show you my operation and share what limited knowledge I have. I have a few extra carboys I'd be happy to give you to help you along. I am a novice "grower" but long time connoisseur. Contact me and we can work something out...

Sounds like a plan, Reggie. It would definitely be nice to see some other setups. There's only so much you can learn from pictures on a computer!
