Hello from TX / OK

Hello,

My name is Luke Lewis and I'm a 26 yo from Paris, TX. I'll be spending the next couple years in Tulsa, OK for work. Because of school, I've had to put my hobbies on the back burner for around 8 years. I'm extremely excited to dive into one of my theoretical passions of growing peppers. I average at least 1 pepper a day, but am severely limited in variety atm. Looking forward to learning from everyone and growing my knowledge.

I am wanting to start from scratch, but would like to be able to try a variety of peppers first to know what I want to invest my time into. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to order a large variety of peppers from a vendor? Like a sample order basically, where I can maybe try the flavor of a couple dozen peppers to see what I want to grow? I am willing to pay to get a large sample sent to me! Thank you!

Welcome to THP! I'm in Wichita Falls myself. I've been on the lookout for some peppers myself. Been wanting to make a batch of hot sauce, but getting kinda tired of just jalapenos and habaneros. Thinking I want something a little different. Thinking maybe a pepper with a bit of smoky flavor to it. What you guys think?

Thanks for the tip about White Dog Chiles! She'll be a great asset moving forward. I think I'll check out a fair she'll be at April 27th. Are there any good vendors for buying a large variety of seeds at once? Like a starter pack?

Yes. Check the vendor vault. I think Justin at White Hot Peppers has some seed collections for sale, but you are getting too late to start from seeds now.
