Did you emasculate the flower before attempting your cross? Did fruit set from your cross?
If so your cross took, if not it didn't.
if you didn't remove the male flower parts before attempting a cross, you are doing it wrong.

You're going to have to give it more time until you can figure it out. Be patient. You may be able to tell by the leaf shape but you won't really know until you start getting pods.
