How do you guys grow such a crisp, healthy loking plants? Why mine are always sickly. After over a month from hooking they will still fit in a shot glass.

I cannot speak for others, but I simply give mine lots of light (6 lamp T5HO fixtures: approximately 30,000 lumens at between 4 to 12 inches from tops), keep them at a reasonable temperature (65° and higher), water only when they begin to droop, and basically leave them alone...

And, Fox Farm Ocean Forest is Da BomB!

  • Bahamian Goat X White bullet hab D7X C. chinense
Thats an interesting cross...are those F1s?

There is a thread on this forum that shows the F1 hybrids of a White Hab X Bahamian Goat cross. The fruit color (paler orange) and size (about half the length/width of Bahamian Goat) show incomplete dominance. Alas, fruit shape was that of an overlarge jellybean (but the F2 generation should feature some plants with the BG's lovely form).

Niiiice!! Since jalapenos are my favorite I planted alot of them.  Currently I will be growing 143 jalapeno plants!!!   Swimming in jalaps for dayz!!

I planted around 100 jalapeno seeds a few days ago, they haven't sprouted yet but when they do I'll add them to my list.  I'm going to try to sell most of them at the FM but if not I'll be swimming in them too XD

Probably F2 or F3, I got them from filmost in Japan, I'm pretty sure he got them from another member here originally.

looking good over there Rich, nice score on the horse doo. Really diggin the pics of the property, so many trees!! I really miss trees :mope: . Whens the plant out date?

I'm aiming for May 2 to plant out but I may wait another week after that.  Once I've got all/most of these seedlings outside in the ground I can focus on setting up my grow tent for possibly some hydroponics, I've gotta transfer two "not" white bhut plants out of the aquaponics system into Dutch buckets.  I'm only running leafy greens in the aquaponics from here on out but may stick a tomato plant in there just for the hell of it...the one I had a few years ago in it was very prolific and grew around 4 feet a week (no exaggeration)

Ok another video update, this one has a liquid organic plant food mix at the end of it

-Well water
-Epsom salt
-Fox Farm Bushdoctor Microbe Brew
-deer bone powder mixed with calcite sand
-Fulvic acid
-Fermented sugar beet molasses

Nice mix.   How do you powder the deer bone?
With my teeth...

I use an angle grinder (like you would find in a weld shop) with a ceramic disk and throw the dust into a bucket.  If anyone does this make sure you wear eye and respiratory protection.  You could use a file or a rasp but it takes forever.

Sounds like a lot of work if I had 3+ carcasses to do.  I wondered if you steamed, pressure cooked or baked them first.  I might try my belt sander one day and fill up the collection bag.

They're actually just photodegraded/naturally weathered more than anything but I'm sure anything to soften them would help.  It's really not that difficult to grind bone with disks for steel.  Most of them were leftovers from a knife hilt maker I know.

I'm less than two weeks before heading out across the continent and leaving my grow behind me.  I've got some pod porn for everyone

20150804_172130_zpsb5dxqcq7.jpg

This is a "Lucy" pod...beautiful and gnarly at the same time.  I think the cross was 7 Pot Jonah X Naga Viper F4

20150804_171737_zpsfdkwnhse.jpg

I finally got the right pheno BBG7, going to do a video review on this pepper soon.

20150804_171714_zpsehyka8be.jpg

I actually don't know what these are but they are very very likely a Naga Morich variant of some sort.  The seed pattern inside is bhut-like and the burn is very bhut-like and I'd estimate it around 1 million SHU.  They don't ripen any darker than that, I had a ripe one on the plant for two weeks and it stayed orange.

20150804_171623_zpsubbkeifh.jpg

blistered out bhut pod.  I'm hoping some of these will ripen before my flight

20150804_171515_zpstb28axgk.jpg

This is a correct pheno HP22B Carolina Reaper.

20150804_171448_zpskdbhqwxc.jpg

This is the "black bhut" which I'm pretty impressed with Bhut Jolokia X Pimenta de Neyde, it's an overwinter and it didn't produce at all last season...I didn't want to get rid of it and I was rewarded with loads of pods that are just starting to ripen this season.  I might get two dozen by next week off of it.

20150804_171429_zpszidug3ne.jpg

A TMSB starting to ripen.  Yeah I see the wooly aphids too XD

20150802_183412_zpsuhcfx412.jpg

A pull I got a few days ago.  Fatalii, Tepin X Aji Lemon Drop, Yucatan white habs, Aji Habanero, Sugar Rush Cream, Unk. Naga variant,  up top "Blushing Dutchman" CGN21500 X 7 Pot Barrackpore, bottom Goatsweed

So my grow season this year is basically finished and I wish I had more to offer as far as photos go but I wasn't able to get a lot of them.  I did have some extremely productive plants this year and my row of Jalapenos just put off half a five gallon bucket worthof pods a few days ago with more coming.  My neighbor is going to tend what's left of the grow that's in the ground.  Here are some of the final shots from my grow:

big 7 Pot Bubblegum plant, the can of Monster is there for size reference

Black Bhut Jolokia, my mom wants to dig this one up for the winter as a houseplant lol

20150813_121148_zpslbdfphss.jpg

Orange Naga Morich, this plant was pumping out pods like crazy

20150813_121206_zpssy5phvmj.jpg

C. chacoense another potential houseplant for my parents

20150813_121212_zps6om8wojm.jpg

C. eximium the berries on these ripen and fall off so fast it's ridiculous!

20150813_121229_zpsaao1kmgk.jpg

C. eximium flower

20150813_121309_zpsjebb9ljr.jpg

these are the two "Blushing Dutchman" plants, CGN21500 X 7 Pot Barrackpore

So as for me, I'm moving tomorrow! so my grow for 2015 is over, although I'm taking 4 adult plants with me :D
