Hi ya all I just joined, im 68 retired Chef and live on 7 acres in SW Missouri. I'm here to learn about pepers and hopefully learn to make some hot sauce.
I like hotter peppers, I do jalapeños cause my late grandmother liked them.Hello, aside from germination, I’ve never found peppers to be any great challenge to grow. It’s more convenient, but potentially more expensive , to purchase plants over seeds. Pepper seeds can be finicky to germinate and take a long time to do so , so I go with live plants whenever possible. However, I’m getting tired of the same old selections available locally, so will shift more towards popping seeds. Commonly available peppers like bells and jalapeños don’t make a lot of sense to me to grow but ymmv.
