Hey all. Just thought I'd throw this out there for anyone that wants to try it and I apologize if it is a repost (although I couldn't find it). I have some pretty sore muscles and joints from getting old and a rather salty motorcycle wreck a while back, so I have tried many things to combat the pain of it. Recently found that capsaicin rub does alot of good for my aches and pains, but the price causes me wallet pains. Why not make it yourself.
What you need:
Habanero powder (stronger powders may work better for different pains)
canola oil
cheesecloth
beeswax
Add 2 Tbsp habanero powder with 2 cups canola oil in a saucepan. Heat the combo on low for 2 hours(stirring approx. every 15 minutes to aid mixing). Strain the mixture through cheesecloth into a jar (jar needs lid to safely store mix) and add about 1 1/2 oz of beeswax (to warm combo) to give the consistency of a cream. Some heating and mixing may be needed but don't overheat (will be pliable around 100 degrees and can combust around 150). That's it. Rub it on your sore muscles and joints, try it for the arthritic hands it works. Like I said, you can adjust the potency of the pepper to suit what ails you, but take care not to go overboard . L8R all.
