I'm not a fan of mayo but I am of wasabi mayo! That stuff rocks, especially on grilled salmon. Too bad about the camera but we get the picture. SWMBO gets the WIN!

It was DELICIOUS.

Spicy crab, spicy shrimp, and Shrimp tempura.

I thought the seaweed layer is supposed to be on the outside ? also you can buy those little bamboo rolling mats at some stores that sell asian food items, instead of using tinfoil to roll'em :lol:
 
The weed can be in or out. Most rolls I see/get are rice out. Hand rolls look kinda like bugles and are always seaweed out.

Never have made sushi. Any time I have fish fresh and good enough for it it gets sliced up sashimi style and disappears before I can gather up all the other stuff.

The mat is under the foil. It gets all phucked up if you get rice on it.

But...If we are craving sushi, we make shrimp, crab, etc. if no sushi grade fish is to be found.

I didnt see the mat, sorry.
i guess the next question would be is if the rice gets stuck inside the mat, then why do you keep placing the rice on the outside ?
why not place the seaweed on the outside ;)
 
For rice out, Saran wrap can be put between the rolling mat and the rice too. Then you can throw crap like sauces and the sesame seeds up top on the rice rolls and it looks all nice.

If it's all seaweed on the outside then it just looks like ya got a plate of big ass green cigars.

I really don't know why are some are rice in and some are out though.
