"hot long peppers"

Picked up some peppers at the supermarket that I hadn't seen them carry before. They are pretty long maybe 5/6 inches, slightly curvy, about as big around as your thumb, kinda wrinkly looking, and green. Any ideas what these might be? They were literally just labeled 'long hot peppers'

I can get some pictures if necessary.

thanks for the help

-edit- googled 'hot long peppers'(Sorry for not doin that first) and came up with a pic that looked like them called 'italian hot long' Anyone know anymore about them? Think the seeds will be viable? From the little I read looks like they ripen red and these are all green, hope they will germinate..

They are Italian Long Hots, the standard Italian frying pepper of Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwiches. A cheesesteak is not a Philly cheesesteak without those peppers. Good stuff.
