How hot are Superhot flakes?

With the help of some weights from Salsa Lady and JoynersHotPeppers, I was able to calculate that one tablespoon of powder is equivalent to about 7 hab-sized pods. Most supers are a bit larger than habs, but that might give you an idea.

My Wife and I both love scorching hot food. She made some curry recently, about a four serving pot. 1/8 of a teaspoon of my powder (80% supers and 20% hots) was plenty of heat. Hotter than anything I've ever been able to find in a restaurant, even one where most of the clientele were Indian.

Hope that helps.

I bought a new set of measuring spoons so I can provide real ratios for people to follow. :) I have not found a single pod that loses heat when dried, mine are all HOT!

In my experience, while they retain all of the capsaicin, with the exception of any lost during cutting them up for drying, or while grinding them up, they are more manageable than fresh. Here's why: there is no water to violently throw the capsaicin around your mouth, so it is more even coating across your mouth, and doesn't have "hot spots" from the water flinging the oil droplets everywhere inside your mouth.

i am sure if you too exactly 1 fresh pod worth of dried flake and tossed it in your mouth the sensation would be damn near identical i have this powder that has who knows how many different pods in it, i use 1/8 tsp on a whole breakfast burrito and its hotter than most people can eat.

I'm eating a bowl of homemade chicken stew right now with about 1/4 tsp Bhut Jolakai powder per large bowl, and it is very hot. Good for me, but no one else in the house could take the heat.

I just ate a Fatalii last night and cried like a little girl (sarcasm but the fatalii was damn hot) can i survive a bhut?

Yes more then likely you could it seems they vary in heat ranges but mine i am finding there hotter then the fatilli's
I would just try like 1/4 of one first just in case.
