I finally had some fruit set on my Bhuts and Scorps (tons of flowers) this past week. How long will it take to mature to a harvest-able size? I live on Long Island where the weather is 85-95 for the next few weeks then they will drop. Thanks
i clocked my habaneros at a month from setting last year, but i do think it has a lot more to do with the end of the season, at least for us in the north.
My Bhuts took about a 4-5 weeks to reach full size and another 2 weeks give or take to ripen. Very slow producers; in my case. This could be due, in part, to environmental factors.
Agreed. My one and only Bhut so far has been the epitomy of s l o w...... From 6-11 till 7-20 it grew maybe 1/4 an inch and has JUST now finally started to change color. Only right around the stem is a slight shade of orange. In the same time I've had whole pods of Caribbean Red Habs set from a flower and they will be completely red and ripe in maybe two days.
Definately seems that in the Texas hotbox.....the hotter they are the slower they grow.
