How long from Flower to Pepper?

I'm sure this depends on the type of hot pepper, but how long does it take to go from a flower to a pepper you can harvest?
 
I just started some seedlings WAY late and am worried I wont be able to enjoy the peppers before the frost hits.

4-5 weeks sometimes.

Also depends on the weather leading up to harvest (before the frost). Some peppers just ripen quicker than others as you said, but throw in some consistent cold and rain and that can halt things. 
 
Did you just start the peppers this week? What is your first frost date?

Yes, just started them this week.  The first frost date in my area is Oct 15th.  I plan on making a kratky non-circulating hydroponic system so if we do have an early cold spell i can bring them in.
