How much does a bushel of chile weigh

Just harvested from my garden. Picked about 30 pounds of various chiles. Simple question (I think) but, just for the fun of it, I would like to know.

How much does a bushel of Chile weigh? Each year my family usually purchases about five gunny sacks of Green chile and six of red chile to put in the freezer (just my wife and I - hope the kisd don't find the hankering for chile). This is in addition to the harvest I get from the garden. The 30 pounds I got this afternoon was what was ripe since the last time I picked (last Saturday). If this keeps up I hope to get a lo0t of chile.

By no means am I some sort of expert, just an amateur sleuth here and there.

I did a quick search and what I came up with is "about 40 lbs" which may or may not be correct.
