I wonder if the guy got hassled into doing that or he came up with the idea himself.
I have seen a few similar videos but they had a guy using a tow rope.
Needless to say either the guy forgets to let go or gets tangled and towed.
Not close to a Darwin award though...
Maybe a tow hitch on the Ski Do ( Lots of guys have or had them set up for towing hunting stuff around here - trailers or sleds to get a dead animal out on a hunt) .

Guy is lucky his cloths didn't get caught up and drag him into the treads,between stuff that makes the treads run.
Then again,it could be a Darwin Award (maybe he'll give it a second try if he gets enough likes).
People love watching guys bust their butts doing scateboard and bike tricks,especially if they break something when they mess up.
I seldom watch these kind of videos,BUT this one was only a min.+ long.

Actually he probably did get caught on the top part of the tread.
Otherwise he woulda been rocketed backwards I think.
Musta been his boots,I don't see torn clothing that might have been torn up by the gears or whatever.
