Hydro meter question?

I have a meter that I'm using to measure my nutrients but it reads in ppm. My question is will that give me the correct numbers compared to a tds meter. Last night it read 534 and my water that i use to fill my reservoir is 130.

Ppm is a measurement of TDS in Parts Per Million, so if your reservoir reads 500 ppm then there are a total of 500 parts per million of dissolved solids.

Also, if your tap water reads 130ppm, you need to subtract that much from the nutrients you add. So if your target is 500ppm, you would only be adding 370ppm worth of solution.

i ahve always just added that amount of nutes i want so if my water read 130 and i wanted 500 i would add till it read 630, and i have never had an issue with my plants

but like was said above, TDS is measured in either PPM or EC.
