hydroponic hydroponic question?

Okay so i have 4 extra T12 grow lights so a total of 16 feet of light. i want to do a single 16 foot long hydroponic setup


I dont know what on would be cost effect or what. But, my ideas where [background=rgb(240, 255, 255)]should i do an ebb and flow hydroponics with a 1'x1'x16' box of wood with pond liner and a bunch of rocks
OR
a long 4inch by 4inch inch tube (fence post cover or pvc) and put net pots in it.
Would that be enough room for the roots? a 3 inch net pot with 8 inches of root space to use on both sides
I just dont want to spend money without a plan.

I already have a bucket, bubbler, and compost. the compost came from a farmer who owns 19 horses. i know her pretty good always supplies me with a load a week

You just won't get enough light out of that. Might be ok if you use it as 4x4 for like 2 plants.
