Along with my other "sale," I have been thinking about something else. My father also left me his 1980 K5 Chevy Blazer to me. Last year, the engine bay caught on fire. It's not a TOTAL loss, but wouldn't be cheap to fix either. Just replacing all of the parts inside the engine bay, then replacing all of the rubber and wiring, then a paint job on the fenders and hood. I'm sure some stuff can be salvaged. Some of it could probably be cleaned and re used. The engine was only 10k into a fresh rebuild with an upgraded cam. It LOOKED like a stock motor, but sounded pretty dang nice. Ceramic coated headers, etc. The transmission was also rebuilt in April of '09. Not fixed...REBUILT. $1100 just for that.
I was going to try to sell JUST the motor and transmission, but I am now thinking that I just dont know if I can hold on to this truck long enough to where I can set it in a garage and rebuild it. Sure, I can do it no problem. But, after I finish college, I will most likely move into an apartment so I can save money to buy a house. What am I going to do with it until then? I know, I can store it, etc. I dont want to go through all of that. Thats a good $100 to $150 a MONTH, for how long? It would just be a money pit from that point on.
I think it just needs to go.
IF anyone is interested, again, let me know and we can maybe work something out. Thanks again for looking ya'll!
