Identification Help

Well I am new to this forum and this is my first post. Hopefully this is the appropriate forum for this question.

Can anyone help me identify this chili:

I am not sure where I got these seeds from but the plant lasted outside all winter and is really starting to look healthy. The peppers start as a dark purple then ripen to a dark red. Also the stem is a dark purple and most of the leaves are purple.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the link. From the pics I am pretty sure that it is a Fluorescent Purple. Now I just have to go and eat one to check the heat.

Looks sort of like a royal black but do the pods grow upwards?

My 2007 Royal Black plants

Could be Hungarian Black as well.

Here's mine:

Leaves and stems are darker than they appear! Flowers are purple, just like yours.

They do look a lot like the Royal Black and there are a few pods that do grow upward but the majority of them grow down.

I have a few Hungarian Blacks that are starting to take off but the leaves and the stems are not as purple as the Fluorescent Purple.

I will try one of the pods this weekend when it is still purple then when I get a dark red one I will try that as well. I will let you know how they are.
