Slowly. I'm not about to go out and munch on a dried hab or Red Savina. But I am noticing, I guess you would call it a tolerance or a fondness depending on your point of view, for hot peppers.
Over the holidays, I fixed some white chili for our family get together as well as some chili for our company Christmas party. In both cases, I added some dried pepper powder from peppers this year. To me, there was a bit of heat, which should have meant that the average person would have found both bland. Instead, I was shocked that everyone said it was hot, or had some bite or had a lot of heat.
I'm blaming you all for this and it will only get worse. I add powder to just about everything I fix from hamburgers or chicken wings to soup. Each batch seems to need just a little more to taste "right." What's next - adding powder to ice cream? And then having to add more and more powder?
Would you like some (whatever) with your chili pepper powder, sir?
