insect damage ID

Something is enjoying my Anaheim's leaves overnight. Is this snail damage? I found a big grasshopper a week ago but more damage since.

we get lots of grasshoppers out here and thats the same kind of damage they do. when ever i see one i make sure to smash it. but they usually dont stay and hang out too long anyways.. i actually noticed this morning that my patio red caribbean plant got a few leaves chewed last night.
 
There is a ginormous black bee damn near the size of a golf ball that I see every morning but he has been around longer than any of the leaf damage.
 
I would say a small caterpillar of some sort. I have some small grasshopper problems now and their damage is limited to small holes in the interior of the leaf not exceeding 1/4 inch.
