Interesting leaves on Potawie D, Naga

AlabamaJack

eXtreme
Potawie Dorset Naga...Do you suppose this is some kind of hybrid. Never seen 3 cotyledons on a plant before.

Different View

Might as well show you a Purple Tiger's Leaf too...the picture does not do this leaf justice...I have to get a better light set up for my pictures.

OK All...get ready...here is the infamous "Diablo Negro"...I will say the leaves are stunning.

I will take better pics of the leaves once I have learned to use this macro lens...

These are pictures that will go in my "pictoral garden log"

Saw a thread on Galore regarding 3 cotyledons, and apparently it does happen once in a while.
It'll need some more energy, but it's just fine.

Might as well continue...

Another shot of Diablo Negro

First Aji Leaf...is curly leaves a trait of the "Ajis"?

Looks Like I maybe got some flower start on the baby Naga's. If not a start of a stem for a flower, it died.

The purple vein on the Naga Morich leaves are pretty...

One More Shot....Start of Flower Stem on red Savina

I will quit now....have a great evening all...

can i entice you to come over to my house and take pictures of my seedlings like that? lol.

I have 3 3 leaf mild habs, and i had 1 last year. so it seems to be slightly common :o

you are just loving that new camera, i can tell...
more than two seed leaves are common in gymnosperms (just like twins!), it does happen in angiosperms but its rare (just like twins!)
i know this is pretty much what everyone else said, i just wanted to bring up my twins :)

Yup....loving every minute of it, especially since I got the Macro lens....

Speaking of twins, how are yours?....did you name them yet....like gracie and tracy ?

Nice pics AJ, but you should "remove size/resolution bar from thumbnail"

I meant to do that Potawie but forgot...I need to check the box to remove it on I.S.

I am going to watch this one and compare it to the others you sent to see if there are any different traits between the plants..

hrmm, that guy in my class who's a twin *did* seem more attractive all of a sudden...

they're huuuge, they left the control plant in the dust. i hope your little experiment goes as well.
so far i just call them twin A and twin B but maybe i should name them after the twins i knew back in grade school, one was james joseph and the other was joseph james. jim joe was also bigger than joe jim so it would be apt...

I would have to name them...I mean, after all, they will be talking in a matter of weeks...

My Cheiro de nortes have 2 3 leafers out of about 9 sprouts.

Anyone know if the plant will continue with threes? Do they grow better or worse? Obviously I will not need all of these, so I want the better ones. One of the triples is actually the biggest and strongest looking one. The other one is a runt.

Why didn't I have any of those? :(
I did have once in a while one with two leaves stacked on one side and one on the other, but never ones with perfect leaves like yours.

Mine came up healthy Cheezy...very strong even though the bout with the mold/fungus...

CORRECTION: IT IS NOT A DORSET NAGA, IT IS A TRINIDAD SCORPION.
