Introduction of myself! A graduated biologist who loves peppers 🌢️

Hi all,

Nice meeting you! My name is Stef, I'm a biologist and graduated one year ago in plant sciences and plant breeding. Currently I'm working as cultivation specialist in a soft fruit nursery! In my free time I'm in my hobby garden and greenhouse most of the time :) Here I grow different plants ranging from tropical to just regular common dutch crops. But most of the space in my garden is reserved for hot peppers. Since 4 years I really got into hot peppers when I worked with them during my internship for BASF breeding (I did quite some trials for peppers). Since them they really got my attention and started growing them on my own!

This year I'm making my first ever fermented hot sauce and next year I wanna start breeding my own material since I have the knowledge from my studies and internships, and I love to experiment with that! My goal eventually is creating something that's extremely hot since that is what I like :)

If you have any questions or experiences you wanna share with me, feel free to do so!

Kind regards,

Stef Tielemans

Welcome to our Forum Stef. πŸ˜€
I have a question.
This season I grew Brazilian Starfish & Aji Fantasy.
Of all the peppers I grew this season the 2 BS & the Aji are still alive & ripening their fruit
after 2 killing frost.

All other Ajis & all the Mexican heirlooms are Dead.

Why do you suppose these 5 plants are still alive. Never seen anything like this before. 😲
